the shower! I am happy to report that things went well, laughter and smiles were everywhere and many of gift list items received by the happy couple :)

The decorations we made looked fantastic and I received lots of compliments on my craftiness…always makes you feel good when that happens!

The food was wonderful with a fabulous fruit salad, several sandwich combo’s and a variety of awesome desserts!

Also happy to report that they have signed an offer on a house and are now in the financing, loan approval, inspection phase of things. Dare I say this means I will get getting my house back LOL! Stacks of things everywhere I look that are for her home. It seems her hope boxes have multiplied like rabbits! Provided all goes well she will be moving the end of August. I am thankful she will have a chance to get settled a bit in time for the wedding!

So that has been what is going on here and why I have been MIA for the majority of the past few months. Now on to the final touches for the wedding/reception planning….like flowers and the final choices for decorations and bow making and….

1. We know how creative Berleen is with her terrific tee-shirts and such, so how about you? Do you draw anything or perhaps your name in the sand when you go to the beach? I don’t get to the beach too often and mostly when I am there I just like to wiggle my toes in the sand and the surf :)

2. Kimber doesn’t always leave her house. I wonder if she knows what is out her back door. What is out your back door? We only have one door out and it goes to a small fenced yard. I don’t leave my house much either LOL!

3. Do you prefer the beach, a pool or a lake? Why? I would prefer to live by the ocean and hear the crashing waves but I live no where near any of those so I guess the silent reservoir will have to do for now.

4. What is something recently that happened to you that you are REALLY excited about? My life is NOT that exciting but I am happy for my dd who just signed paperwork for her first house :)

5. I am fortunate that I come from a very close family. Are any of your great-grandparents still alive? If not did you ever meet them? I don’t recall meeting any of my great grandparents but I had a very close relationship with my grandparents growing up. Only my Gramma’s are left now and both live far away…I miss them!

6. When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group? Tell us about it. NOT something I do.

7. Have you ever bungee jumped? Would you ever bungee jump? No & No

8. How strong emotionally do you think you are? I guess it depends on the situation I can put up a good front but I think I fall apart when no one is around.

9. Kimber and Berleen still have NEVER met, yet they are best friends. What is the first thing you notice about people when you meet them? Their smile and their eyes.

10. Who do you mess with the most? Is this a trick question?

11. Who was the last person you talked to on a landline? What is a landline? No seriously I know but I can’t think of anyone who still has one that I talk to.

12. I finally saw Avatar this week. What was the last movie you watched long after it came out and loved? hmmm we tend to Netflix most things so pretty much ALL of them! We only go to the movies if I have a gift certificate, won the tickets or it is showing at our local cheapie theater.

13. What did you dream about last night? that would mean I slept and so far that hasn’t occurred.

I have so many things I want to do but then I become overwhelmed and don't know where to start resulting in my to do/want to list growing and growing and growing! I am back from the land of the lost today :) Figured I would give my try at the latest Thursday Thunk so here goes...

Driver's Ed. Demon #1 is taking it right now. Did you pass your driver's test the first time you took it? Yes actually I did.

You are sitting outside on your deck in your comfy lawn chair, feet are up and the temp outside is perfect. There are no bugs to bite you and ruin the night... it's peaceful and all you can hear is the birds singing and an occasional cricket. Whats in your hand? Probably nothing but I imagine that a book is nearby and a tall icey glass of water.

How many graduation parties and weddings do you have to attend this summer? Ok.. how many are you invited to? Two Grad parties prob not attending them, One wedding shower, no weddings (until Fall anyway!)

There is no other choice in the matter - you must transform into a different race, but the catch is that you get to pick which race. What will you now be? huh I never really thought about this...I would like to live in the warmth so how about something from the Caribbean :)

Someone once said that the grass isn't greener on the other side... are you jealous of your neighbor's lawn? Nope no lawns here only farm fields LOL!

Bud is walking along a beach barefooted and steps on a piece of glass buried deep in the sand. His foot is bleeding... does he cry, swear or stomp around on his other foot? I spose he would do all of that before the Twins picked him up and carried him off to play doctor.

I'm gonna take you fishing... are you going to be a whiney baby and not bait your own hook and when you catch a fish am I gonna have to take it off the hook for you? well you can take me fishing but you can't make me fish! I would be there just for company sitting quietly with you and hold the cooler lid open when you flop your big catch of the day in there!

From a Facebook friend: When asked what would you bring with you to a deserted island, why doesn't anyone answer "a boat"? maybe they don't really want to get off the island...peace and quiet win out over the rat race at home - at least for me!

What do chickens think we taste like? Chickens do not have taste buds, but I imagine that they think we taste like SWEET REVENGE!!! (I actually found this online at Yahoo Answers not my original thought)

lemons? huh I didn't know that so I guess I don't know why either! LOL

How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said? usually I go huh? and they repeat then I go what did you say and they repeat and then I just shrug and move on LOL!

I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Darn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away? they're probably talking to your machine silly! wait a minute or so and listen for the voice mail beep or then try calling them back.

So Mel Gibson left his girlfriend - think he's finally heard of me? ummm nope or me either for that matter :D

Why do they call it "getting your dog fixed" if afterwards it doesn't work anymore? who knows who cares

1. Why do they ask you to get on the plane? Shouldn't you get in it? When was your last flight? I think my last flight was to Kansas City, KS via Milwaukee, WI and it was on Midwest who serves up the most delicious chocolate chip cookies!

2. Why do they call two planes getting too close a near miss? Shouldn't it be a near hit? Have you ever been on a plane that was in trouble? First flight I ever took was to go to West Palm Beach, FL via Newark, NJ and it was in winter and the turbulence was horrible not to mention the hours spent de-icing the plane before we even could take off!

3. If a mute swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap? What have you done when your child sweared? I have used a bar of soap and time outs for my dd when she was younger. Sometimes though you just gotta laugh!

4. How about a restaurant for anorexics? What would you call it? The Empty Plate? When was the last time you went out to a fancy restaurant? been awhile!

5. Where do forest rangers go to 'get away from it all'? What to you do to get away from it all? well I suppose that depends on what their "it all" is that they want to "get away from"

6. Why do people who know the least know it the loudest? What do you do to get a know-it-all to shut up? WALK AWAY! (or hang up)

7. If a man speaks in the forest and there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong? Men: does your woman (or most recent) think that you are always wrong? Women: Do you believe that men are always wrong? Nope just most of them LOL

9. Would a fly that loses it wings be called a walk? How badly do flies annoy you? the flies that land on you or bite or buzz my ears are WAY ANNOYING! I like to SMASH them flat with the swatter!

10. Why do they report power outages on TV? When was the last time that you went without power? We haven't been without for a bit but the last time we just lit candles, dh drug in his laptop and portable power source we had cheese & crackers for dinner and watched a movie together...I don't mind no power :)

11. If vegetarians eat vegetables, what do humanitarians eat? Have you ever been or considered to be a vegetarian? NOPE

12. If the cops arrest a mime, do they tell him he has the right to remain silent? Tell us about a time when either you were arrested or came close. Nahhhh I pass :)

13. Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food? Have you ever owned a cat? I do not own any cats however my dd has 2 cats but I don't think she owns them I think they own her.

ummmm I got nothing either – haven’t been here in awhile so I don’t know what you have been asking LOL!

I like both but I think I prefer the camper so I know I am waking up warm and dry in the AM :)
4. Told ya I got nothing. This really sucks. I should have had Bud do this, huh?

5. What is your favorite letter of the alphabet?

6. So this week my kid had to type a research paper for English.... then she had to email it to her teacher! Is that not just the oddest thing ever? Blew my mind away.

Why did they have to mail it was the assignment on learning how the post office works (or doesn’t sometimes) Why wouldn’t they just hand it in at school? Yeah that is ODD!
7. Wow. These questions suck. They suck bad. Do you like to suck through straws? For what type of beverages?

only at a restaurant and the straw must be in paper still not opened by them – you never know where their hands were…ya know!
8. What do you do with your cell phones when you do those wonderful "upgrades" to the newer, fancier phones?

hmmm so far they are in a drawer LOL! Getting ready to do the “fancy upgrade” thing today actually – meeting dh there at lunch and dd there before she heads to class tonight.

LOL I did get up this AM and did the Wii Fit again so YAY ME 2 days in a row...shall we go for 3? Why yes I think so, when I get up tomorrow I shall do the Wii Fit before coming in the computer/craft room!

Body is sore today but I felt better afterward...ok well after the hot shower afterwards! I know if I keep at I will start to feel better

I am so proud of myself this AM getting up and doing some Wii Fit before getting on the computer an crafting and then before I know it the day is over. I am so sore and feel like I can hardly move the past few weeks that I knew I need to get back to regular exercising. I admit I started off easy today only 20 minutes of yoga and stepping but it was something and I feel achy now but I know it is a good thing as I also am popping and creaking every move I make so the stretching was good for my body! Putting it on my planner for tomorrow AM too I think I will get up instead of hit the snooze button so I can have time before I head off to work for Wii Fit.

Live in it if it were to my tastes if it wasn’t then I would sell it.

no not especially although I do like to play.

I have no idea who that even is so uhhh nope!

None cause I don’t fish so wouldn’t be catching the fish who ate the other fish that ate the fish before the one who ate the smaller fish who ate the tiniest fish of them all.

8. If you had an appointment with the doctor and all the plants in the office were dead, would you still see the doctor?

this is funny cause the only plants I have ever seen in the Dr. office have been fake and if they killed the fake ones then hell no I wouldn’t stay to see the Dr.

Turkey Raffle

here we come! LOL

Tonight there is a turkey dinner with all the fixin's followed by a turkey raffle to raise funds for the Children's Christmas Party so I am off to that. Hopefully I win a turkey (or a ham cause they have those to raffle off too) this year! Last year wasn't so great in the win department! LOL If you are local and you want more info CALL ME!!!!

Oh wait I think that already is a disease...

2. Sesame Street turns 40 this month. If you were to be on Sesame Street, which character would you want to be in a scene with?

3. We are out shopping for a new laptop. Which one do you pick and why?

I actually didn't pick one, I don't have one. I do have a netbook though.
I love it but again I didn't pick it I won it...lucky me!

4. Have you ever dried a flower in a book (pressing)? If so what was the flower and the name of the book?

Yes, weed flowers LOL as a child and I believe it was called YELLOW PAGES! ROFL!

5. Do you think it's important to study other planets? If so, why or why not?

YES, how else would we learn things like: (copied from THIS website)

Pluto is a dwarf planet that usualy orbits beyond the orbit of Neptune. It was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh on Feb. 18, 1930 (Pluto was considered to be a planet from its discovery until 2006, when it was reclassified as a dwarf planet).

Pluto has one large moon, Charon, that is close in size to Pluto. Two minuscule moons were discovered in 2005.

Pluto is smaller than a lot of the other planets' moons, including our moon (Pluto may actually be an asteroid). Pluto is the only planet in our solar system that has not been visited by our spacecraft yet. We only have blurry pictures of its surface. Pluto's composition is unknown. It is probably made up of about 70% rock and 30% water (this is determined from density calculations).

Pluto is STILL a planet, they call it a dwarf planet and I think the only reason someone decided to say it wasn't is due to the fact stated above - it is the ONLY planet not visited by our spacecraft. Hmmmm did those aliens outsmart us or what?

6. Have you ever walked out of a movie at the theater? What was the movie, how much was the ticket and why did you walk out?

No I don't think I have ever walked out when I have paid for a ticket although a long time ago I worked at a theater and I have walked out cause my break was over.

7. Does the city/town you live in have traffic enforcement cameras? Have you ever gotten a citation/ticket/fine from one? If so, did you pay or fight it?

No we don't have these.

8. If your neighbor is having a baby would you buy a baby gift for them?

I might I suppose if I had some but I really don't have any neighbors.

No I have facebook and twitter.

Some yes.

WOW it has been almost a month since I blogged - I apologize. Seems like a lot has been going on but yet not really...time just keeps rolling on by!

So what have I been up to? Well let's see...

I've been shopping with my dd for her wedding dress, we found some things we like and some we don't and are going to actually end up having the gown made. A little of this one and some of that one and then this and that added too :) Fun Fun Fun!!! We also went to a bridal show and learned a lot of what we don't want and saw some fresh new things we would love to have included. Yeah I keep saying we but she is making the decisions I just happen to like the ones she is yeah and nay"ing".

Hmmm we went to Charlotte for the race in the middle of October and made a vacation of it, staying with my SIL. Had a wonderful time and for sure didn't want to come home even though it was unseasonable COLDDDDDD while we were there!

After we got home I found out my boss was cutting my hours at work...NOT PLEASED WITH THIS AT ALL...NOR WITH HOW IT WAS HANDLED. But since I am wanting to find employment no bashing will be going on here I surely don't want it hanging over my head. So yes I am looking for employment part or full time preferably days so I can still see my family and help my daughter with wedding planning. If anyone knows of something please message me. I would love to find something I can do from home, please only something tried and true not a scam Make Money at Home plan please.

Let's see what else...well we went to a fish fry and a monthly drawing and then the next night was Halloween and we went to a Costume party and there was a band. Then it was my birthday and my dd took me to lunch and then my dh came home and spent the evening with me just watching a show here but he stayed awake! LOL

We've also been playing darts and Wii Bowling, mostly I just bowl cause the darts hurt my fingers/hand too badly. Dang carpel tunnel :( I've also been crafting when I can and working on Guest Design things, Design Team things and my Creative Council stuff. It all keeps me busy and usually the time flies right by.

1. Bud- What type of meme question is the hardest?

None are really hard - they just make you think sometimes LOL!

2. Smart Cent's Mom- If you could be any person living or dead, who would you be?

idk - sometimes I think it would be nice to be one person and then another - I think I would like it to be like Quantum Leap and I could try different lives out.

3. Thom- You accidentally bumb into someone at a store and you apologize. The person you bumped into says no problem and you notice food stuck in their teeth. What do you do?

I would probably say something cause if the situation were reversed I would want someone to tell me.

4. Captured Memories- "Do you ever shed a tear when you poop?"

5. Mejis- If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear it, it's still a tree, right?

this is one of those things that makes you go hmmmm like why so they call it a parkway when you drive on it.

6. Tosin- What is something you have said to someone that you wish you could take back?

I wish I hadn't ever said I hate you to my parents, I wish I hadn't said some things to my dh over the years, I wish I hadn't told my ex-friend I didn't have enough money for something that was important to her and had I just figured out a way to work it out there probably wouldn't be an "ex" in front of friend.

7. Annie's home- not feeling very creative here so I will ask if you were in the Big Brother house how would you play the game?

I know I am not able to do the challenges like them so I think I would have to just buddy up with everyone be the likable one in the house, not cause controversy and keep my fingers crossed each week that I make it through.

8. Meandering Matt- Mac (which is still a PC (personal computer) in my opinion) or PC (Microsoft)?

I am a PC but MAC is way hotter than PC in the commercials!

9. Living Dead Nurse- Do you think Jay Leno’s show should be cancelled?

I have never watched the show so I have no idea - wouldn't care one way or the other.

10. Dixie Chick- I LOVE VICTORIA SECRET PANTIES AND THEY ARE THE ONLY KIND I WEAR. JUST BOUGHT 5 NEW PAIR THE OTHER DAY. 2 BLACK, 2 RED AND 1 PURPLE. THEY ARE ALL FRESHLY WASHED AND READY TO WEAR. MY QUESTION IS.....WHAT SIZE BRA DO I WEAR...?

I don't know, don't think I really care either.

11. And finally one by Kimber (just so you don't think I am too lazy)- There is a rattlesnake living behind the warehouse my husband's company just moved into, tarantulas in our side yard, scorpions all around at night and coyotes howling and running down the street in front of our house. So what color sheets will you want on your bed when you come to visit me?

2. Do you have a long standing joke with someone that you still laugh about every time you talk to that person?

I had the bed all to myself and no snoring in my ear!

4. If you dropped a purple crayon and a green crayon off a roof, which would melt faster in the sun?

Probably the green cause I couldn't find it to pick it up if it was in the grass and it would be shorter than the purple too so less to melt since I color more green things than purple things (can't you see I am using green text! Which thank you very much I picked before I got to this question!)

5. You are standing in line (grocery store, bank, etc.), and someone gets in line behind you that stinks. The stink is so bad that people in line in front of you turn around and look to see if you are the one causing the stink. Do you cover your nose, hold your breath, breathe through your mouth or just get out of line altogether?

Dude(tte) I am OUTTA there! There is nothing I can think of that i need that desperately that I can't go back for another time.

6. If you dropped your cell phone in the toilet, would you fish it out? If so, how much soap would you use to wash your hands afterwards?

Seriously? Did you hear about the girl who got wedged in the porta pot trying to fish her phone out - NO WAY I would do that! GROSSSSSSS not enugh soap or disinfectant in the world.

7. Sydney Australia dust storm (link). How long do you think it would take you to clean your house after that sort of dust storm?

One good rain for the outside :)

Yes I can but I don't know if anyone else thinks I can but neither do I care!

9. You are out to eat and someone across the room is staring at you. Do you get paranoid, try to ignore them, or go find out why they are staring at you?

First wipe mouth, chin, check the chest for spillage, if nothing then smile at them, if they still stare go on over and say can I help you?

Well I have missed a few weeks of thunking and today finally am finding a few moments to get back to it :) So here we go.....

Welcome to the September 17th version of Thursday Thunks

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number one thousand twenty seven (1027) and the color of leaves in the fall. (My favorite time of the year all the colors!)

1. My daughter (aka Demon #1) informed me the other day that her hugs were worth a million dollars. Would you give up hugs - giving and receiving - for the rest of your life, for a million dollars?

No I don't think I could do that - hugs from my daughter, my husband too yummy :D and someday grandchildren - no I think they are worth more but I am not denying that a million $$$ would be grand too!

2.Have you ever been bitten by a member of the canine family?

Unfortunately yes as a a result am pretty darn afraid of them. Very few dogs I have been able to tolerate since then, I still freeze up and beg my dh to protect me for the most part. he is very understanding and runs interferrence for me.

3. What is your favorite color of jeans?

darker blue is what I generally choose - stonewashed but not washed out or bleached

4. What is something that has changed in public schools that you wish was the norm when you were in school?

I honestly can't think of much, I went to private school for elementary and then highschool was public but only really 2 years as the last 2 was work study so I had all of an hour or two of class LOL!

5. What is your news source?

I read my local newspaper online (http://chroniclet.com) and I troll the newsites ( http://wkyc.com and http://woio.com) for most other info. I do listen to the radio while driving that long long 9 mile drive to/from work a couple days a week and it is on as background noise during the day while I am there. I also occasionally read a newspaper mostly Sunday editions if we happen to go out and about on Sunday and pick one up. I really rather like living in my own little world LOL!

6. What sort of people do you think read your blog?

Why other thunkers of course and a few friends I also have a crafting blog and my fellow DT members read it along with other crafters round the world.

7. If I told you that I had a headache, you would say..........???

Probably lend you this new roll on thing I got the other weekend from Bath & Body Works as it has helped me get rid of them when they are just starting. I am wishing I had bought more than one actually so I could keep them in several locations.

8. You go to a buffet style restaurant, what is the first food you put on your plate?

The only buffet I have been to recently is a Chinese one and I of course went straight for the crab legs LOL! Usually if we go that or seafood based dishes are my first choices. ohhhhh like this mixed seafood and cheese dish Mmmmm ok now I am hungry for it!

9. If you were stranded on a desert island.... no, we aren't asking that again. Lets put a twist into this. Would you volunteer to be dropped off on a desert island, to be picked up in a month? And you don't get to bring those 3 items, either.

I don't get to bring what 3 items? Do I get to bring any items? Hmmmm if I could just have a book and some lotion and some....

10. When the sun sets, what are you usually doing?

Cinnamon Buns

I just thought I would let you all know that the little cinnamon treats that were in the last food pack (did you miss the info? if so you can find it here) were delicious! They tasted like little cinnamon buns! Yummy bread doughy outside with the cinnamon all warm and gooey in the middle. We had a few the other night as I was wanting something sweet :) I saved a few for the next AM and ate them cold out of the fridge. Still yummy but way better when they are warm!

Just thought I would let you all know another part of the package we are pleased with. Saving money on our food bill each month, new foods to try sometimes - we are pleased :)

Yeah but not recently

2. A dog licks you on your face. Are you disgusted or thinking it was sweet?

DISGUSTED - I would never voluntarily put myself in this position and I would probably be in a tizzy if a dog got this close to my face - bad experience before and I prefer not to be around them at all.

3. Tell us about a fun/special memory you have of a grandparent.

I have so many lovely memories of my grandparents. One of the things is family holidays - we all got together in their house and there was room for everyone without it feeling the least bit crowded. Depending on the holiday we did different things like 4th of July watching fireworks and doing sparklers in the backyard. Christmas was waiting for Tinkerbell and they had this angel that was suspended on a bouncy wire from the ceiling! Colored logs in the fireplace. *sigh* I miss my Grandparents!

1. Your thoughts on hunting?

Dh is a hunter. I am not.

2. Swine Flu vaccine... will you get it?

Doubt it.

3. What is one job/profession that you think there are just too many of?

Professional Bullshitters...oh wait maybe they call them Lawyers.

4. I want to go on a diet, what advice will you offer me?

diets don't work, lifestyle changes do...if you figure out a way to stick with the changes that is fool proof please let this fool know :)

5. You are going out on a date with someone for the very first time.

When you get into their car, you see a box of condoms on the floor.

What do you do?

I wouldn't be going on a date right now as I am married...if I found condom's on his floor I would be pitching a MAJOR fit cause there is no need for them at this stage in our game so that would mean something funky going on :(

6. Name something in your bathroom that shouldn't be there.

a screw drivier my husband had taken in there for some dumb reason and has failed to put it away!

7. What was your Kindergarten teacher like?

hmmmm I don't recall a lot of Kindergarten, I had a uniform to wear to school that's about it LOL! My first grade teacher was AWESOME though and has kept in touch with my family all these years and we used to visit her during the summer...she is a very special lady.

8. What kind of oil do you use when you cook?

DUHHHHHHHHHH the kind in the bottle in the cupboard!

Or some from the big container (GFS Brand) on the top of the fridge if I am frying something.

9. If someone takes an unflattering picture of you and posts it online, do you beg them to take it down or do you laugh at yourself with everyone else?

I take you haven't seen them floating around on my dd's website already or the ones that someone posted on FB from hs and the prom - OMG we thought we looked good? LOL all a matter of perception I spose and the trends of the time!

10. What brand of dishwashing soap do you use?

Sometimes Pam handles it other times Dawn. ;)

Foods Here & the Freezer is Full Again!

I was talking to a friend about the food packages we have been getting so I thought I would share a picture with you all for a little refresher :) The place we have been using is called
Great Food For All. It is similar to Angel Food Ministries however we have found that we get a little better quality food with GFFA and as simple as it sounds I like that it comes in a sealed up box so I get to unpack it not have a bunch of stuff thrown in the bag/box we take into Angel Food for picking up. Now that doesn't mean I don't like the Angel Food I just prefer GFFA most months! We do sometimes do both but they often are for pick up the same weekend and the freezer doesn't always have room for 2 full basic boxes! You also have to compare menu's and decide what your family likes and what you will use. Silly to get a package just cause it is from one place if you don't like the items in it this month KWIM?

ANYWAY....

Both are similar in that you HAVE TO buy the Basic Box before you can get any "add-on" packages. Now in recent months I notice both have added alternatives to the traditional Basic Box, they call them Senior Packages and Empty Nesters or something similar. With the purchase of any one of these you can add on with other packages like a meat package, a veggie one and whatever other specials they have put together for the month.

So here was my August Basic Box:

The big brown bag on the bottom (upper left) was hash brown sticks - LOTS OF THEM! I repacked them into Ziploc's and wrote the cooking directions on each Ziploc. The center things are not corn dogs they are a cinnamon dessert thing and we haven't yet tried them. The upper right is a large container of soup! Ground beef, ham, chicken, a specialty roasted chicken package, green beans, corn, frozen berries pizzas and a crab puff appetizer package.

We also opted to add the meat package from August for grilling out with:

ground beef - 2 packages 2 lbs each, those round things in the middle are burgers! HUGE burgers!, some steaks, some more chicken too.

I have priced out the items in stores when we have been out and we definitely get our $$$$ worth so don't be afraid to give it a try if you have a pick up place close enough to you!

The food comes from all over not just bulk places, we have seen the Schwan's label on things, we have seen the same packages at GFS that we have received through here so it comes from a wide variety of sources.

I introduced some friends to this who order the Senior Package each month cause they like freezer meals and she says they are really good - we aren't too keen on freezer meals so I can't vouch but if you tend to like them I would venture to say they won't disappoint you!

Summer Treat Give-Away

I love Yoplait yogurts and they come in a ton of varieties! The whips are pretty darn awesome for a frozen treat. YES I mean put it in your freezer let it get good and firm and then pop it out for a delightfully refreshing treat! My favorite is the Orange Creme but oh the Chocolate Mousse is heavenly too! Oh and then there is Key Lime....well you get the picture :)

Questions About This, That & the Other Thing

Can you believe it is Thursday Thunk time again!

1. Hypothetical question- you are in a building with famous works of art, old manuscripts of famous novels, and original sheet music from famous composers. The building is on fire and looks to be completely destroyed. Do you grab any of the famous works before fleeing, and if so what?

I would probably be ogling the manuscripts so I would grab whatever is closest to me and as many as I could carry and then run outside. Gotta be careful though older dried things burn faster!

2. In August 1969, the Manson family went on a 2 night killing spree. Do you think 40 years later they have paid for their crimes?

No I believe and eye for an eye.

3. Power Outage! What's the longest you have been without power?

Couple days, not so bad BC (before computers) now it would be difficult! LOL Can be romantic though like dh bringing home propane for the camp stove and cooking dinner together, candlelight...

4. Just bought a new tazer gun. Will you let it be tested it on you to see if it works, and how it feels to be tazered?

Hell NO but I would offer up my BIL for you to try it on :)

5. A neighbor's mail was delivered to you. In it is a magazine not wrapped in plastic. Is it ok for you to flip through it before giving it to the neighbor? Do you tell them you looked through it?

Depends on the magazine I spose if something on the cover grabbed my fancy I might look otherwise I would probably just plop it into his mailbox since it is right next to mine. If I did look I probably wouldn't say anything. If it came to the box mail I just look for our names and if something isn't I hand it right back to the clerk.

6. If I went through your purse/wallet right now, what all would I find in there?

Hand cream, kleenex, chapstick, mirror, tweezers, bandaids, library card, toothpick,Tinkerbell wallet with some change and a dollar in it and a $25 Ruby Tuesday card - anyone want to go to dinner?, my DL and Bank Card, My checkbook and keys. My cell phone is thrown in on top now too and my sunglasses since I am inside. Pretty boring LOL!

Questions Much to Do About Nothing

Welcome to the August 6th version of Thursday Thunks!

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen,
the number 1 and the color of the crap under your shoe.

I don't see any crap under there cept the ugly carpet!

1. What the hell were you thinking?

hmmm just now 2 seconds ago WAIT now? hmm what was the question?

2. The tornado sirens go off in your neighborhood - what do you do?

Look out the window.

3. Give us a recipe.

1 Egg
1 slice cheese
2 slices canadian bacon, regular bacon, ham or sausage (whatever the heck meat is in the fridge!)
2 slices bread or a bagel or an english muffin (again whatever the heck bread choice we have - even a tortilla if need be!)
butter

Place pat of butter in fry pan, turn heat element on to melt it and coat pan bottom.
Cook egg in fry pan until cooked hard (easier yet pop the dang thing on purpose when you put it in the fry pan!
Cook meat in a second fry pan or just do it after the eggs - whatever you like here.
Toast your bread choice if desired otherwise get it ready to make a sandwich.
Place cheese slice on bread.
Place cooked egg on top of cheese slice
Place meat choice on top of egg.
Put bread top on.
Put in plastic bag and give to husband to take to work :)

Can double or triple as needed!

4. It's the middle of the night, there isnt a car in sight and you are stuck at a red light that just won't change.... how long do you wait until you run it?

probably not too long if I didn't fall asleep waiting already.

5. When was the last time you got all dressed up fancy-like?

Couple weeks back a Friday evening.

Where did you go?

FOE 2051 Grand Opening dinner and dance. Nope I didn't dance but the music was good!

6. Have you ever had a mole removed?

Yep, I was MAD the first time my mom made the appointment and didn't tell me why I was going to the Dr. just that I had to go :( It HURT like heck! Have had some removed since then but as an adult and I made the appointment. I have 2 more I need to get looked at, funny it was on my to do list today and I am Thunking instead! LOL

7. Are you in an area of record highs or record lows for the temps this summer? Are you lucky and stuck in the middle where it's somewhat normal?

I think we are stuck in the middle it is only in the 70's here today and was yesterday too BUT they say a HEAT WAVE is coming next week.

8. When was the last time you changed your furnace filter?

We don't have filters on our furnace.

9. What's your favorite type of frog?

10. If you were to go on America's Got Talent, what would you do for your talent? (and choosing not to go is not an option....)

huh? I would be there only to root for my bff HRH as she sings and dazzles everyone!

1. You are in an enclosed space with a group of friends. Elevator, auto, small room, etc.. You fart and it really stinks. Do you take credit for it or do you play along with the questioning of who did it?

2. You are locked in a room sitting at a desk with just a piece of paper and a purple crayon. What do you draw?

Why the purple people eater of course!

3. Do you ever pee in the shower?

No that is what the potty is for! The radio recently had this discussion - it was quite the topic.

4. Have you bought, sold or got rid of something on Craigslist?

No I can't figure that list out.

5. You are in a convenience store. In the line in front of you is a drunk guy trying to purchase more alcohol. The cashier tells him they cannot sell it to him because he is obviously already intoxicated. He gets belligerent. The cashier is scared. What do you do?

6. While shopping for produce, do you "sample" before you buy (i.e. grapes)?

no unless at the outdoor market where they are giving you a sample of it trying to entice you to buy. I admit I have got hooked on some fruits this way :)

7. You are walking down the street and there is a toddler sitting on a bench by themselves in front of a store - do you just keep walking?

Nooooooooo help the little one!

8. Have you looked up an old friend and/or lover online?

Yes but I am afraid to "talk" to them cause we parted on not good terms, she knows where I am too and has "talked" with my dd so I know she knows I am there too...

9. You are nearly in a car/auto accident. Do you freak out, follow the person who nearly caused it & talk to them or just keep going?

A United States Marine was taking some college courses between assignments. He had completed 20 missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist, and a member of the ACLU.

One day the professor shocked the class when he came in. He looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, GOD if you are real then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you exactly 15 min. The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop. Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am GOD, I'm still waiting.'

It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold.. The Marine went back to his se at and sat there, silently.

The other students were shocked and stunned, and sat there looking on in silence. The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What in the world is the matter with you? 'Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly replied, 'GOD was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot. So He sent me.'

Welcome to the July 23rd version of Thursday Thunks! Where we make you think a little bit before you blog! This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number 22 and the color of the last road kill you saw. Ewwwww!

1. You walk into a store and the cashier is being held up by a robber. The robber's accomplice is dead on the floor at your feet with a shotgun laying next to him. The robber does not see you, but the cashier does - what do you do? grab the shotgun then depends on what store and how much money I think they have....shoot, call the cops or hold them up myself...such a dilema!!!

2. We go to an ice cream shop for an ice cream cone. You say you are buying and I am going to stay in the car. You ask me what I want and I say "surprise me", what kind of ice cream cone am I going to get? hmmm depends on what ice cream place if it is Friendly's your getting Butter Crunch on a sugar cone, if it is soft serve probably a twist and if it is the 58 Twister you are getting soft serve twist with peanut butter dunk! OMGosh delicious! Now I have to go get one see you in a few minutes!

3. You have a dream that your co-worker, friend or whoever is hit by a garbage truck after they back into a ladder with a black cat on it. The next day you see that person standing by a ladder with a black cat on it and there is a garbage truck driving down the road.... what do you do?

4. What is the most money you've won on a lottery or scratch off ticket? $500 on a single ticket a long time ago. I like those peel tab tickets though and we have won good some nights but lost BIG other times. They are addictive!

5. A neighbor kid down the street comes to your door and offers to wash all of your windows outside for $10 - do you have him do it? hell yeah I live on the second story and anyone else having to deal with the ladder is wayyyyy mo' betta than me! I might even tip him if there is no streaks!

Give me a chair and a nice cool drink and I am good to go cept for all those folls hitting that ball around just so they can go searching for it again!

1. Do you know anyone with heterochromia? Yes I do.
Does it freak you out or do you think it's interesting? I find it interesting to look at.

3. If you could live on any planet other than earth, which one would you choose and why?
No I don't think I want to live on any other planet.

4. We're going to spend the night at a reportedly haunted location, are you going with us? haunted as in ghosts moving around and people acting all crazy looking for them? Nope, No thank you! Now I have slept in a hotel that supposedly is haunted but I never heard or felt anything ghostly!
If so, which reportedly haunted place are we going? Not going I told you!

5. Did you play The Queen's Meme this week? If so, was it fair of The Queen to put Berleen in the dungeon by association with Kimber? (We all know Kimber deserved it, but Berleen?!) Never heard of The Queen's Meme so nope I didn't play. I get picked on through Guilt by Associaton all the time...Berleen, you'll live :)

6. What color is the towel(s) hanging in your bathroom?
The hand towel is green and white - ugly! I need new towels. I keep my tye-dye(aka bleach mishap) bath sheet on a hook behind my door in the bedroom.

nothing lately -I need something funny cause life is too serious and dissapointing right now!

8. We just bought you a cow. Do you kill it & grill it, feed it & milk it, or sell it?
I think we shall have us a feast!

I am sure I am ABLE to but why would I WANT to?

Nope I was working.

Thursday Thunk time - I am a week late on this one so today you get a 2-fer this week and last weeks :) Here we go...............

This week we will answer some crazy questions brought to you by Berleen, the number 1559 and the color calico. What exactly is the color calico?

1. Someone knocks at your door. You answer it. It's a kid from the local school selling candy bars for a fundraiser. Do you buy one? Well on the off chance that someone found my door to knock on I would probably buy one cause we are pretty well hidden from typical neighbors :)

2. The end of the world is tomorrow and you are out of milk - do you go buy some? Nope I don't drink milk! I think I 'd buy some rum though :)

3. Have you ever picked up the phone and called someone that you hadn't talked to in years? I am sure I have at some point but not lately.

4. Whats on your computer desktop background? Why the Castle at Disney of course!

5. What was the very first movie you saw in a movie theater? hmmm I have no idea what the first in a theater was but at the drive in it was Bambi, a group of girls in the back of the van in our ppj's for a friends b-day party. Her dad was a brave man to take us all!

6. If you had to take a 10th grade science test, do you think you would pass? I think so but I am not dissecting anything!

7. Describe heaven. the most beautiful place one could ever imagine time a gazillion more - I can't wait to get there!

Yep and that is why we have traps and sprays!

13. Whats your favorite type of bear? My favorite bear was Christopher he was a snuggly panda who sadly was attacked by mice while in storage...poor poor Christopher.

1. When you close a door, do you close it quick and just let it slam or do you hold the knob and slowly shut it tight? HA HA am I in a good mood or a bad mood? What time of day is it? What door are you talking about - some slam way better than others you know - rattle the whole house! LOL

2.Train A is moving at 60 miles an hour. Train B is moving at 22 miles an hour. They will pass each other at X time. Now what color shoes are you wearing when train A derails? what? - who cares? am I on the train?

3. What if M&M's grew on trees? What color M&M tree would you have? PINK!

4. How many petals on a flower does it take to make it the perfect bloom? hmmm - idk

5. I took you to spend $421.67 on you, what did we spend that money on? Rubber Stamps and Paper and Ribbon!

6. If you were a squash, what type of squash would you be? spaghetti cause I am a little stringy sometimes I spose.

7. Have you ever gotten a wrong number call and ended up talking to the person for longer than 5 minutes? yep and even went on a date once - NEVER AGAIN! that was a total disaster!

Burnt Toast, Asian Noodles and Blogoversary

Love toast especially when I can have fresh made jam on top of it. So since I have been making jam toast sounded like a great breakfast - durn toaster burnt it though :(

Asian Noodles with Peanut and Sesame - Yummmmm NOT at least not what I ended up with. Some kind of spice in them and they weren't that appetizing. I picked out the crab and zucchini I had added and ate that instead.

If it weren't for Teena in Toronto noting that today is my Blogoversary I don't think I would of remembered LOL! So thanks Teena!

Dang I hope dinner and the evening is better than the rest of the day so far!

1. Are your ears dirty?

No I scrubbed them and even behind them in the shower this AM and I haven't been playing in the mud today although it has rained plenty nuff to make lots of mud!

2. Would you rather be stung by a scorpion or bit by a snake? (Don't say either...no one wants to be in pain, that's the point. Pick one.)

I guess a snake and hopefully it wasn't poisonous or there is someone around to suck the venom out.

3. Do loud noises make you snappish? (i.e. A loud restaurant, screaming child next to you, booming stereo from a neighbor's house?)

snappish? Hmmm is that the same as annoyed? Let's put it this way I grew up with my dad saying "who picked this place?" if there was a screaming baby or loud kids. I never let my kid be loud at the restaurants or scream just for the heck of it she was removed to the car or other room or something although it didn't happen too often once was usually enough for her to learn we meant business :)

I am sometimes the stereo blaster though so good thing I don't have neighbors. he he!

4. PETA- thoughts on this org.?

well I think what one calls ethical another might not... I don't generally like political type debates and feel everyone is entitled to their own opinion after all they are like A**holes and everyone has one you know. So moving on now to the next question. ( I will be interested to see other's responses to this one)

5. Would you rather be the discoverer of the Loch Ness Monster or Bigfoot? (Imagination!)

Why is it imagination? Who is to say there isn't one of either of these? I think Loch Ness - imagine gliding through the water with her or maybe even hitching a ride! You never know what kind of life exists under the sea!

6. When in a public toilet and it's not flushed: do you flush & use or move on to a clean one?

I try NOT to use public toilets but if I have to I will usually only go in the cleanest one I can find, sometimes that means foot bumping more than one door! Also NEVER set my bag or purse on the floor and NEVER sit on the seat! Flush with the foot if it isn't an auto one too!

7. Neighbors are having a noisy, party bonfire, what do you do?

What neighbors? Where are the roasting sticks? Got the dogs? the marshmallows? the chairs? something to drink? Let's go!

8. Do you play Monopoly? If so which version of the game?

We don't play often and it is just the original version that we have.

9. Are you a remote hog?

no, my dh would claim that title...even when he doesn't "need" to be holding it (ie: a 2 hour dvd playing) he will hold it! I think it is his security blanket!

10. Do you like the smell of paint?

sniff sniff
but only the colored paint the white is boring!

11. My questions obviously suck this week. {I've had a bad week.}

my favorite is probably a Heath Toffee Bar but let's be realistic here I haven't met too many chocolates I don't like! Sooooo if it is a chocolate bar or had chocolate in it I probably like it!

hmmm did your # show up on the caller ID? if so I'd say hello? If it didn't I probably didn't answer and you are listening/talking to my voice mail!

3. What is your favorite type of leaf?

I love fall leaves with their awesome array of colors

- had sex? ummm that is between me and my dh.
- swam in a lake? can't recall
- went barefoot outside? last night - would of today but it is raining like crazy and calling for hail.

well we aren't really celebrating much, my dad is going to be at Disney with my brother so I guess they will celebrate - wonder if they will wear Mickey ears all day? Hmmmmm My dd will take her father out to breakfast and he will try to escape the rest of the day and go golfing unless it is raining and then he might want to go to a movie.

no I don't think so....Mom????????????

hurts like the dickens! and I hate to peel cause well that is just GROSS! I usually am the lightest around my family and friends anymore no more sun worshipping for me.

9. On average, how many hours a sleep do you get a night?

on a good night I get about 3 1/2 to 4 hours wake up and then hope to go back to sleep for another 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

now if I take the sleeping pills trhe Dr gave me I get a FULL night's sleep and most of the next day too! Hence I don't take them very often so I am normally sleep deprived!

10 How many hours did you get last night?

last night I woke up after 3 hours and then fell back asleep for another 2 when dh woke me up to ask me where his checks were...the alarm went off anyway so I just got up for the day.

11. Take a picture of something.

I don't know where to find something...do you have something's phone number so I can call something to come pose for a picture?

12. Are the bottom of your feet dirty?

no not so much I just took my socks off and they were clean when I put them on!

The US Postal System, which has been dying for years due to the advent of the fax, e-mail, and overnight delivery, may finally be close to its last act.
The agency lost nearly $2 billion in its last fiscal year and is faced with the serious consideration of cuts of up to 3,100 offices, potentially eliminating thousand of jobs. Media reports say that first class mail volumes are plunging.
What is killing and will probably eventually finish off the Post Office? In a word “broadband”, a system that the current Administration plans to build out quickly in the next two years.
According to MarketWatch, the Post Office is already looking at stopping Saturday delivery. The next moves will probably cut the number of weekdays the mail is dropped off, particularly outside urban areas where the cost of reaching homes and businesses spread over a wide geography is enormous.
Broadband has taken away the need for sending letters and may large documents. Broadband connections allow users to securely download encrypted files, some of which are the equivalent of thousands of pages of paper. The files can be sent and received in a few seconds compared with days to move them by mail.
Payment systems which wire transfer money have nearly eliminated the role of the check in paying bills. This will only increase as e-banking does.
Even the magazine and newspaper industries which relied on physical delivery systems for decades now use the Amazon (AMZN) Kindle as a way to get the printed word over the internet and downloaded onto the device. Almost every major print product also has an Internet version. Sending magazines via mail is expensive. Cutting back on that form of delivery would be a blessing.
The modern postal system killed the pony express. The USPS could only last so long before it way itself replaced. That time has finally come.

It is time again for the Thursday Thunk although I guess I am thunking on Saturday! LOL!

1. How many golf balls can fit inside a full sized school bus? I have no idea!

2. Who decided the alphabet order? probably a man since it doesn't always make sense!

3. Why doesn't McDonald's sell hotdogs? Good question - why don't they?

4. You go to a nice restaurant and they are offering free samples of cheese. You take a bite and it's delicious. Then they tell you the cheese is processed with maggots in it which make the great texture and flavor. Do you vomit at the thought of maggots, think "oh well but no more", or just ask for another sample? stare in disbelief and then try not to vomit! I normally ask what is in something before trying and rarely take store samples that are just sitting out - too many hands have had the chance to touch them and who knows where their hands have been!

5. Would you rather ride on a cloud or slide down a rainbow? Oh slide the rainbow cause it would go through the clouds!

6. Do you know/care who Heidi & Spencer are? I saw a facebook post about them but I have no clue who or what they are!

7. Have you ever used Butt Paste? well if you are meaning the stuff you use for a baby's behind then yes, otherwise I have no clue what you are talking about.

8. Pie or cake? hmmm I do love some pumpkin pie but..........I think I like a super moist cake with some whipped icing on it mo' bettah! (he he borrowed that from my friend Erin!)

9. Do you remember when MTV used to play music videos? YES isn't that why they called it Music TeleVision. Certainly not what it is now...I think they ought to change the name!

23. You see the one person who you absolutely despise. If you were guarentee'd that he/she couldn't say or do anything back to you.... What would you do?? just turn away and go on about my business.

26. HOW MANY FINGERS AM I HOLDING UP? idk can you wave a little bit - oh waving you have 4 fingers and a thumb up LOL!

28. What is the most disgusting thing you have ever eaten? hmmm dirt? play-doh? squid?

I would say clothes but lately haven't been able to find things at those stores so I imagine I would stock up on Shampoo's and hair stuff and add a game or two to my Wii so I can do more with it. Probably some ink for my printer too!

32. When you were little, what did you want to be "when you grow up"? And, how much different is your occupation now from where you thought it would be when you were younger?

Always wanted to be a teacher, didn't like math at all and now I am an Admin Assitant who keeps the company's books....go figure!

33. what was your favorite toy as a child? I don't really recall many toys except a Cabbage patch doll my Granny got me and I know I loved (still do) board games, especially scrabble.

Cirque Dreams

Sunday we went to see Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy and it was fantastic!

The theater was full of color, sound, laughter and awe!

We had seats in the upper balcony and although we couldn't see the faces we could see the entire stage and all that was happening. It was amazing to see the talents of so many people performing together. The strength required to do some of, heck most all of the things they did was amazing! I loved the bright colors of the jungle and the differnt ways they portrayed the wildlife. They had emu's that made frequent appearances and although I don't really associate them with a jungle per say it worked!

All I can say is that we all enjoyed it from 5 years old through the adults! No one went away dissapointed. If you have the chance to go I highly suggest it. Actually ANY Cirque show is so worth seeing! My mom says she could be a Cirque junkie and you know what? I would be right there with her!

We are lucky in that the theater offers discounted tickets so we can attend shows..check out your's you never know you might be able to afford to treat the family to an awesome afternoon/evening of wonder!

I sooooo do not agree with this...most of the time I buy something based on someone elses experience. People ask me my take on a product and I give it to them. Who is the FTC to say that I am not able to offer up my experience for others to read BUT WAIT if they don't have the same experience then I am liable for that?

So I LOVE LOVE LOVE product A and use it everyday but a reader tries it and absolutely hates product A and it causes her some trouble/issue Said reader can now come back on me for making a false statement....NO WAY MAN I made a statement of my opinion of product A and that was it. I actually didn't know until I went to the File Extension Library to find out. "The dmg file extension is a Mac OS X Copy Disk Image File that falls in the category of Disk Files. It is a mountable disk image file that is a creation of Mac OS X, which normally opens image files mounting virtual disks on the desktop. This file format is a replacement of .IMG file extensions normally used by MAC OS Classic. Mac OS 9 and all the earlier versions are not compatible with this file. today I am so sleepy, not sure why I went to bed fairly early, slept ok or at least I thought I did. I just couldn't get up and moving this AM for some reason...maybe the dreary grey sky and rainy weather? Good Kitty...Bad Kitty

As you may or may not know my daughter talked me into finally getting her a kitty a couple years ago. Now mind you I had resisted since she was a very small child always saying no for one reason or another - mainly I am NOT an animal person. Sooo I kept seeing this sign along the way to work and I thought ok I am tired of the begging I will take her to look at them and then be done with it. We left with not just one but two kittens that day! Yeesh! They were so tiny and cute and ....black! Just what she wanted! So we have to get them established with some house rules right...keep them in your room, I don't want a house full of cat hair....yeah ok that didn't last long even though she has a larger room it was clearly not enough space for two rambuncious kitties. So we agree not on the furniture - yeah that lasted a long time before they claimed the backs of the respected furniture for themselves. So we finally have come to some arrangements at least while people are home and can se them for the most part. Not on mom's couch and in the "man room" you can sleep wherever you can find room for your little ole self! LOL so meet Good kittie AKA Midnight who has claimed a large pillow, the back of dad's recliner and her spot in the "man room"

yeah just look through all the junk to find her LOL! THe blankets were all stacked up neatly but have since been arranged into cat beds of their liking!

Now Bad kitty here below aka Casper has up and decided that mom's couch and pillows are nice. I don't know why she suddenly thinks it is ok she is up there? I mean look at her just staring at me like what?!?!?! I had been telling her to get down for 5 minutes already. So now I spend my time chasing and shooing her off my couch and annoyed that my cream couch has black hairs all over it. Not to mention the pillows!

I just keep reminding myself ... they make my daughter happy and my dh loves them too.

Pampered Chef, Tupperware & where to go?

Anyone know a great Pampered Chef lady that is local to me so I can have a party? I used to have them all the time then my friend stopped selling for them and well since I have had a book party or two but mostly buy at the fair when they are there. Well dh and I used to have fabulous couple parties and we were talking about my broken stoneware and he said why don't we have a party again! Me thinks it is his way of saying he wants to show off the new grill he is getting more than anything LOL! But regardless I need to replace the stone he said let's do it so now we need to find a rep.

Anyone in Lorain or Medina counties and want to come help us have a party?

I was baking for the family birthday party yesterday (baking yesterday party today!) and came across some things that didn't make me to happy :( My Tupperware lids are cracked and broken. I have the square containers for storing flour and sugar and tebags and such and round ones for things like rice and spaghetti and the lids have cracks in them! At least 2 so far that I noticed. i round one and one of the sqaure ones. I need to replace them. I love those containers they are sturdy and not the usual flimsy stuff and have lasted a long while but the lids to crack is not good so I need replacements. Also would like to get some more of those smash down LOL that is what we call them containers...you know the ones that fold flat. Now I know I can get things online but I really would like to see the new stuff too and having a personal touch is nice so again anyone know of a Tupperware person in Lorain or Medina county area? We used to go with my aunt to this great bingo thing every once in awhile - I will have to see if anyone knows if they still do that. Tupperware bingo - lots of fun!

Where to go...DH and I would love to get away for a weekend, probably leave Friday after he gets off work and come home sometime on Sunday but where to go? He wants to go to a casino. We both like them and although we don't spend much we do have a good time. He was telling me about one in PA but that is like 7-8 hours away as it is in Mount Pocono unless we go to a racetrack/casino which I am not really that keen on. I don't really care for the horse racing on TV, now live is great but eh I can do without the tv simulcast stuff. Anywhooo we also thought about Mountaineer but again I am wondering isn't that a racetrack/casino? Anyone know anything about Greektown? What about Detroit? Are there others that are within say 5 hours of NE Ohio? Comments/ Feedback on any experiences anyone has had? Hotels ok? Food? other things to do or see in the area? We have been to Niagra Falls, been to Ontario but no we don't have passports so don't think we can do that now. Our favorite so far has been Tunica but alas that is just a wee bit too far for a weekend only get away LOL! I was scoping the flights to Vegas too as we both want to go but it is almost $500 a person and well then we would be able to play the penny slots only for about 5 pulls apiece ROFL so guess that will stay on the dream list for a bit! Unless you know an inside scoop on cheap flights/hotel for there.

yeah a lot of jibberish today but really if you can help me out with any of the above I would appreciate it immensly!

Ok off to the birthday party now!

Oh and Anna I redid the PB brownies and they are fantastical and the Fudge ones are ooey gooey chewy! I can't wait!

There is a new blog in town...well a new one starting anyhow :) It is a perfume blog called Talk Perfume. Honestly I never would of even thought about blogging about perfume but I think it would actually be helpful. I know when I go to the store I am often overwhelmed by the various scents and sometimes afraid to try new ones as I have no clue what they are like or what is in them. This site offers little blips about various scents and you can contribute too. Wouldn't you love to share info about your favorite so someone else can enjoy it too?

I enjoy floral and tropical scents as much as I do basic vanilla but my favorite perfume that I find myself coming back to over and over is Happy by Clinique.

Wii? Grill?

Finally got our tax return done this past weekend...it was accepted by the IRS and now the wait begins until it is direct deposited.

In the meantime dh and I both have wants we are choosing to indulge in before putting the rest of the money away for repairs and tuition expenses for our dd. So I need your help!

I want a Wii (and a Wii Fit) so where is the best place to get these from? Of course I am trying to still be frugal about it and get the best deal - that leaves more $ for other things :) I have seen bundled packs but also seen a base unit at WalMart for around $250 and then the Wii Fit I have spotted for around $90 so please those of you with a Wii what are your suggestions for MUST HAVE this piece or that so I know what to keep my eye out for or where to shop online for it? Don't be shy - step in and shout out the good and the bad about it.

As for dh he wants a new grill - our other one is pretty much shot, worn out and then it took a HUGE hit from the snow which fell from the second story roof and bent the side burner portion almost all the way flat to the side. No can't cook on that for sure anymore LOL! Inside is pretty much burned up too the grates are probably ok but the inards are dead LOL! So any feedback on a particular grill? We want gas not charcoal although it does have it's plusses too but we cook on a gas one at home and over an open flame normally at the camper. I will be on the hunt for another cast iron pan too this year - I want a bigger one instead of just the small fry pan and square pan I have now.

So is anyone else getting a refund and what are your plans for it?

We picked up her car yesterday, she really likes it a lot and we (the parents) are so happy to have her in something safe and she looks sweeeeeeet! LOL She got an incredible deal and I will have to get some pics to share with you...yeah I am jealous she has heated seats, a moon roof and oodles and oodles of space in this car!

We had a fantastic dinner with Crepes, choice of syrup or strawberries and creme, eggs, choice of meats from bacon, sausage and scrapple. A piece of the yummy birthday cake (se above) and cookies and cream ice cream too! Sounds like a lot but everyone likes something different so we were aiming to please and of course to fill everyone's belly :) DD's fiance had never had crepes before so that was something new to him! Yum Yum Yum!

We watched a movie all together and then some of the Food network Ace of Cakes King of the Hill LOL!

Her bday present didn't arrive in time so her fiance and I made up a game she could ask us each 2 questions to try to figure it out .... LOL It was more like silly time but it was so nice to sit with them and laugh!

Today is my daughter's birthday!

I can't believe she is 19 years old how did that happen?

I am so proud of her she is quite the responsible young lady with a plan and she actively works her plan each and everyday. She is AMAZING!

Today she is taking a big leap and buying a new car. Her old one decided it wanted to be a little bit of a stinker and have some repairs done however, the repairs were adding up and it was looking to be costly to keep putting this and that into it. So she is making the leap to something newer and we go to pick it up this evening :) I am excited for her!

No real big plans other than that we will be eating dinner at home and having a small cake with some cookies & cream ice cream LOL! I'll tell you about dinner in another post, another day!

Not the worst tasting but definately not the best cupcake recipe we have ever tried. I won't be keeping this one that is for sure. They were a very dense cake, good flavor but very dense and we liked more light and fluffy :)

Red Lobster was YUM! I had Steak and Lobster Oscar oh so delish!

DH had the Ultimate Platter, he loves the crab legs but he prefers when I get them so I do all the cracking work and he helps with the tasting LOL! He did some but I finished them for him...hmmm should of said that was his bday present those suckers are tedious sometimes!

He didn't eat the cupcake we brought him but he ordered the chocolate cake (we shared) it was so rich! Very good but VERY rich! I was glad there was s scoop of vanilla to temper it some.

The kids, neither of which like seafood; went too they get the chicken dinners there and then DD'sF had the cheescake which had the most scrumtious strawberries on it - yep he let me have one! Super Good and I am thinking a trip there for a lite lunch followed by cheescake would be delightful fo rmy tastebuds! DD had a cookie thing with chocolate inside that was supposed to ooze out but wasn't heated quite enough for oozing LOL!

Anyway we all had a nice time!

Presents - yep there were some of them too ;)

The kids got him some golf shoes which he "needs" (kinda like I "need" craft stuff) and I am taking us to the race in Charlotte in October which will be exciting! We went to the speedway last time we were there and even got to drive on (well DH drove not me!) so now we will go watch the race there!

Birthday Cupcakes!

Today is hubby's birthday so I wanted to do something special for him. He likes cupcakes and they are more portable than a hunk of cake for him to take with him for lunch so that is what I did :) No I didn't just get a cake mix either I did them from scratch and even one step further...well a couple further LOL! I made vanilla batter then added colors to some of it to get a tye-dye look! LOL here is them after I just plopped the colored batters into the papers.

Next I swirled them a little - not so much I guess they are more multi-colored than tye-dyed!

popped them in the oven to bake...wait ....wait.....wait....smells so good! wait..... DING!

One batch is never enough so the second batch i only mixed vanilla and chocolate with. Then I made 2 batches of frosting vanilla and chocolate and covered half of each with each flavor so it was mixed up a bit.

We are going to Red Lobster with our dd and her fiance so I packaged a single one up to take with us and present to him there :)

Well that was sure a game to watch to the very end last night! Packed with excitement and the commercials too LOL! I have to admit though I did not really care for halftime - I didn't think it was all that great and found myself wandering aroung the house while the E Street Band was doing their thing. Anyway YEAH STEELERS!

There are tons of recipes -all tried and reported back on for your crock pot. I am always on the lookout for more recipes to make life easier and now I have another reason in that I am walking with a friend (although via phone since we are in different states LOL) I need a quick or already cooked recipe for this night each week so we both talked about crock potting it. Hopefully I can keep it up and report back with some yummy recipes for you to try also, I am pretty adept at the quik cooking LOL! In the meantime though I am going to start loving my crock pot a bit more and plan to try several recipes from the above site.

Gran Torino

Last night dh and I went out to dinner and then to see the movie Gran Torino.

Dinner was fabulous! we went to Red Lobster and I had lobster and crab legs and shrimp and biscuits and salad YUM!!!!! I love love love seafood!

The movie was great too - we both had wanted to see it - dh for the car LOL and me well yeah for the car too! It was a very good movie with a great story line and a Clint Eastwood does a wonderful job of making the story believable. The ending got us both and that is all I am going to say cause no spoilers here - ( I loathe when ppl spoil with out alerts so I just try to NOT do it!)

Anyway we had a great evening hope you all did too!

Great Food For All

I don't know if you can really tell from this picture but there is a LOT of food here! Yes it is bulk and yes it is frozen in larger packages BUT it was all for only $30! Amazing and it looks yummy!
This was the basic package of food for the month of January from a new food co-op type place I found nearby. It is called Great Food For All. We have a ham - a whole ham! Not pieces parts or a small half but a whole one - we can get several meals from this alone! Enough broccoli for us to get probably 2-3 meals with. I think 2 sides and one I use the broccoli in with some of the ham maybe :) There is a package of chili cheese stuff which is enough for at least 2 meals. I plan to use half with some cream cheese and Cheddar and make a dip for game night :) There were onion rings, fish planks, a peach pie, Creamed corn blend that has some other stuff in for a little zing (am thinking this might make a good soup or use in my cornbread recipe!) breaded chicken breasts (will make 2 meals with leftovers for lunches for dh...one of which will be chix parmesan!) baked beans (probably have chix pattie sandwiches with this!) and frozen bread dough for rolls!

We also purchased the kids pack - dh and dd like the corn dogs (blech!) and chicken nuggets they said were in there. Well instead of chicken nuggets they were those spicy chix fries thing - dd loved that! Also had some rice crispie treats, another bag of breaded chix patties and a package of hot dogs! So combining the 2 we got a ton of stuff! This second package was under $20 Definately got our monies worth and some good staples to pair with other ingredients for ssome tasty menu's! Maybe have half the beans with the dogs and some of the chili stuff for a picnic night, add some cottage cheese or even some chips and grab a pack of buns and we are good to go! Another thing to do with the breaded chix patties is to layer them (like lasagna with cheese ravioli and sauce, top with a little shredded mozzarella and you have a tasty dish! Salad on the side rounds it out quite nicely!

Oh I am sure I forgot something that was in the package but it was so worth it. Next month we are going to give the Angel Food a try - it is another foood program. You can check the menu's out online so we just look and choose the best one and that is who we go with for the month. If you have a larger freezer it is worth it to do both (if you like the foods included that month) They also offer a senior package that would be ideal for lunch packers too! Then each has the add on packages like the kids pack above they are all different and taylored to specific themes. Anyway just wanted to share and let you know there are good options out there for these tight money times! Groceries is easy way to save with packages like this and COUPONS! LOL

So I pop up the newsreader and this is what I see...

"We have one heck of a week coming up.

RV's, Snow and RENT

Friday dh and I went to the RV show and walked and walked and walked! There were TONS of RV's from small pop ups to small hard tops to HUGE drivers and more there! There was even one we could go up to the SECOND yes I said SECOND story and stand fully upright to look out the windows all around the sitting room! AMAZING the things you can get in an RV. I think there really are no bounds if you can dream it someone has done it or is working on doing it now to get the option out there to all the RV'rs. We did find a couple we liked, one especially with a small slide out section but it is beyond our reach right now. We really do want to downsize from our 32 TT to something more portable and can be towed with our truck. It is just he and I now so there is really no need for something as big as we have. We'll see....

SNOW SUCKS as my friend tells me when I see her logged into chat. I have to agree I really just don't like it...the cold...my toes never being warm...slipping and sliding everywhere....not being able to go places for fear of drifted snow and getting stranded or in an accident....I really really dislike it! More than snow though I really really don't like that we seem to get iced over a LOT! and then we get snow so we are often in a very precarious state with that layer of ice under fresh snow and you really end up slipping and sliding! YUK!

Last night my daughter and I went to see RENT. It was a fun night and we really enjoyed the show. On the way out we got turned around so we ended up heading out of the city the wrong way but it was kinda cool cause we got to see some places I remembered from childhood and places I wanted to show her so we just enjoyed the tourist route. LOL!

Oh that's about all for now...it is Monday and back to work I am.

Movie, the day from He** and so on

my hubby and I went to see the movie Seven Pounds on Sunday afternoon. I had heard good things about it on the local radio station so I wanted to go. I knew it was the end we were all waiting for but I don't think hubby did. It started off slow...as in hubby was having a hard time staying awake but then again he loves his naps LOL! but then it became a whole twisted plot and you were wondering what is he doing? You were having to watch now to see what was going on. Oh my it did indeed deliver in the end and I am glad we went to see it! I think I might like to get it on DVD when it is released as there were several things we didn't pick up but then in talking about we figured out LOL! Yeah I don't want to give it away so I am talking all topsy turvy about it! he he

Afterwards we went to a new place for dinner. It was a pub & grille so I expected with the football games on it would be busy...it wasn't which was ok with me :) We had a coupon for $10 off a $20 purchase so we looked over and over and over the menu to see what to get. Hubby got a steak wrap, a cheese quesadilla for an appetier to share and I got the appetizer garlic parmesan wings for my meal. Well we were almost done with the appetizer whent he waitress comes out and says we are out of garlic - do you want another flavor of wings. hmmm NO I DON"T I WANTED GARLIC 9in my head this is happening) outloud I say umm no I will pick something else, she was kind enough to give me the menu back to look over. She comes back and says well the wings are almost done are you sure you just don't want another flavor? No I don't thank you. I ordered a patty melt :( Not really what I wanted and I ended up only eating half of it and took the rest home - it was bland. Course maybe just cause I didn't want it was why as I do like patty melts normally. Anyway I was bummed we used a good coupon for so so food and although the prices were relatively inexpensive I am not sure we will go back again I mean come on HOW DOES A PLACE RUN OUT OF GARLIC?????? Plus it was pasta night for them so reall to run out they should of been prepared. Ok thanks for letting me vent....

Monday was the day from HE** I had to try to do some updating for our accounting program at work to get ready for the new year and to make sure the right taxes and such were working and give guys their vacation time - would it work?!?!?! NOPE nothing was working and the program's tech support was so busy...on hold for hours and still no solution. Yeah for me I get to go back into this tomorrow too and try again! :( grrrrr I hate end of year!

Today my day off had a list of things I needed to get done and places to go, was all set to hop in the shower and get moving and looked outside again....SNOW....everywhere! YUK!!!
As my friend said today SNOW SUCKS!

it is nearly the end of the year already! Christmas will be here in the blink of an eye...are you ready? I am...I think! LOL we never are, seems there is always someone we forgot or should of done more for or something. We are planning to see some family on Christmas Eve and then my dd's fiance is coming over on Christmas morning to open gifts then we really don't have any plans until Sat when we will have Christmas with my parents and brother and some extended family. At some point we will be seeing my neice and the babies too which I am excited about! They are so stinkin cute! LOL and I love my neice more than she probably knows :) anyway just ramblin on here so I'll stop now - have a wonderful day!

Gratitude Day Twenty-Eight, Twenty-Nine & Thirty

Well I have been lax in posting the end of my list and for that I apologize. We have had a rough week. What was to be a time of vacation and relaxation for my dh turned into not such a good time. A very close friend of his passed away suddenly last week and he has been rather down in the dumps about it. Coming to terms with loss and figuring out how to continue to cope with that void will be a process and I this week was just a start. The funeral was yesterday and while that does bring some closure there is still emptiness there and I can only hope we can fill it with other happiness and good memories!

So the balance of my list I am adding POPCORN! I am thankful for this fun to eat, yummy treat that I can have whenever I want and however I want, plain with salt, with butter, with seasoning, cheese topping chocolate or whatever else I dream up LOL!

I am adding dvd's and family time as I am thankful for nights like we had last week when all of us watched movies together and ate pizza and just enjoyed each other's company.

and finally to round out my list I am thankful fo rthe internet as without it I would be without many friends and ideas! Thanks to the WWW for linking the world together!
